Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Innovation Learning Institute. These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and our educational institution regarding your use of our website, online learning platforms, educational services, and related offerings in engineering and science education.

By accessing our website, enrolling in our courses, or using any of our educational services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

These terms apply to all users, including students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our website or educational facilities.

Educational Services

Innovation Learning Institute provides advanced educational programs in engineering and science disciplines, including renewable energy systems, biotechnology, and climate science. Our services include classroom instruction, laboratory work, research opportunities, and online learning platforms.

We strive to maintain high educational standards and provide accurate, up-to-date course content. However, we reserve the right to modify course curricula, schedules, faculty assignments, and program requirements as necessary to maintain educational quality and meet accreditation standards.

Course availability is subject to minimum enrollment requirements, faculty availability, and institutional capacity. We may cancel or postpone courses that do not meet enrollment thresholds or due to circumstances beyond our control.

User Responsibilities

Academic Integrity

You must maintain the highest standards of academic integrity in all your educational activities. This includes submitting original work, properly citing sources, avoiding plagiarism, and not engaging in any form of academic dishonesty or misconduct.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or security breaches.

Respectful Conduct

You agree to conduct yourself respectfully and professionally in all interactions with faculty, staff, and fellow students. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in any form.

Compliance with Policies

You must comply with all institutional policies, safety regulations, laboratory protocols, and applicable laws while participating in our educational programs or using our facilities.

Intellectual Property Rights

All course materials, curricula, research publications, educational content, and institutional materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use these materials solely for your personal educational purposes and may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialize them without explicit permission.

Student work, including projects, research, and assignments, remains the intellectual property of the student unless otherwise specified in research agreements or collaborative projects. However, the institute may use anonymized student work for educational and promotional purposes.

You grant the institute a non-exclusive license to use your feedback, suggestions, and testimonials for institutional improvement and promotional activities, unless you explicitly request otherwise.

Payment and Refund Policies

Tuition and fees are due according to the payment schedule provided at enrollment. Late payments may result in suspension of access to educational services and additional charges. We accept various payment methods and offer payment plans for qualified students.

Refund policies vary depending on the timing of withdrawal from courses. Early withdrawals may be eligible for partial refunds according to our published refund schedule. Administrative fees and certain course materials may be non-refundable.

If we cancel a course or program, you will receive a full refund of tuition paid for that specific course. However, other expenses such as books, materials, or accommodation costs are typically non-refundable.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. You also acknowledge that educational records and academic information may be shared as required by law or accreditation requirements.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, but you also have responsibilities to protect your own privacy and account security.

Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide high-quality educational services, we cannot guarantee specific educational or career outcomes. Your success depends on many factors including your effort, preparation, market conditions, and other circumstances beyond our control.

Our liability for any damages arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount of tuition you have paid for the specific course or program in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Termination of Services

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services for violation of these terms, academic misconduct, non-payment of fees, or behavior that disrupts the educational environment or violates institutional policies.

You may terminate your enrollment according to our withdrawal policies. Upon termination, your access to course materials and online platforms will be discontinued, though you may retain access to completed coursework and transcripts.

Termination does not relieve you of any outstanding financial obligations or affect any rights or obligations that arose before termination.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, strikes, pandemics, technological failures, or other unforeseeable events.

In such circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to continue providing educational services through alternative methods, such as online instruction, modified schedules, or makeup sessions when possible.

If force majeure events significantly impact our ability to provide educational services, we may adjust course schedules, modify delivery methods, or provide appropriate remedies on a case-by-case basis.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

We will attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiations before pursuing legal remedies. Mediation or arbitration may be available for certain types of disputes as an alternative to court proceedings.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or institutional policies. Material changes will be communicated through our website, email notifications, or other appropriate channels.

Your continued use of our services after changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may discontinue using our services according to our withdrawal policies.

We encourage you to review these terms regularly to stay informed about your rights and obligations as a member of our educational community.

Educational Excellence

These terms are designed to create a positive educational environment that promotes learning, research, and professional development while protecting the rights and interests of all members of our academic community.
